I'm Philip Perkins, also known as Barcelona Health Coach. I am currently the healthiest, most confident I have ever been. It hasn't been an easy road, but after years of struggling with my overall health, both physical and mental, I have never felt better.

I spent most of my adult life chubby and self conscious, constantly trying new plans, diets and activities that only resulted in me fluctuating up and down in weight. Not achieving my goals also effected my mental health which resulted in me never feeling good about myself.

One year ago, feeling down emotionally and being a very uncomfortable 84 kgs I made a change. It wasn’t a specific diet plan to follow or a new trendy workout program. I just started to live a healthy lifestyle. I started simple; I upped my activities and found joy being outdoors again, I started eating home cooked meals consisting whole, nutrient dense foods.  With an interest sparked, I read books on nutrition & wellness and connected with people who had been through similar situations. As I felt better it became easier and easier to maintain. Once my microbiome was healthy (first time in 30yrs) I felt like a completely new person. I could see that my mind and my perception of myself had improved, I had more energy and my body composition naturally progressed.  Now, at almost 47 yrs old, I’m 68kg, stronger and fitter than ever, I have no restrictions in my diet and I enjoy my treats. More importantly I feel good, physically and mentally. I have found a healthy, sustainable lifestyle which I enjoy. 

 

It was such a game changer and so much easier than I expected. A real eye opener on how nutrition, microbiome and physical activity impact our mental health. I wanted to share my experience and help others build longterm, sustainable habits. 

I have added to my personal experience, personal experimenting and extensive notes, and achieved a certification from The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, which certified me to work as a Health Coach.

 

My goal is simple; to help you feel better, help you feel great from the inside out. We will do this by finding a balance in your activity, your nutrition and your rest. This will in turn help you live a healthy lifestyle and meet your goals with out any of the restrictions and sacrifices that the usual diet plans and exercise programs entail.
